The 1996 ZZ-R 1100 D continued the D-model of Kawasaki's 1100 cc ZZ-R sports-tourer, a big transverse inline-four with four carburettors, adjustable suspension and disc brakes. It was a heavy, high-speed road bike built for long fast rides rather than a lightweight sportbike. The spec sheet for this year matches the other D-model entries in this series.
